Here Goes Nothing

My time in America is winding down... my flight leaves today @ noon (connecting in Houston) and I arrive in Lima @ 10:30pm.

Here's a picture of everything I'm taking with me for my month journey.

Starting from top left to right: rain/wind jacket, pajamas, king-sized sheet, micro towel, bathingsuit & cover-up, ice breaker under garmets, 3 ice breaker t-shirts & 1 camisole, wool pullover, 3 pants, toiletries, hiking shoes & socks, underwear (breathable so they'll dry fast), ziplock bags (Thanks, Lisa), lipbalm, head flashlight (again, thanks Lisa), super duper bug spray, swiss army knife, cell phone, duct tape, sunglasses, nailclipper, various medicines, longsleeved breathable white shirt, books (including my journal, Lonely Planet guide, and Spanish dictionary), flipflops, camera & extra memory card, external hard drive, iPod, converter & chargers, eyepatch & earplugs, sunscreen, tissues, moneybelt (to be worn under my clothes), passport, cash, wallet, pen, iodine tablets (you never know), & babywipes.

So far, I only have the first 2 (of 4) weeks planned. Here's my schedule:
June 16-18: Lima
June 18: Fly to Cuzco
June 18-19: Cuzco
June 20-23: Trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (I will be MIA at this point - sleeping in a tent!).
June 24-26: Cuzco (Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun) is on June 24th)
June 26: Bus to Puno (Lake Titicaca)
June 27 - July 8: ???
July 9-14: Mancora (beach & surfing)
July 15: Lima
July 16th: Return to the US

And that's about all I have planned right now. I will make my way to Arequipa (canyons) and Huacachina (sandboarding) at some point & hopefully to Iquitos also (on the Amazon River).

See ya on the other side!

Good luck on your journey Steffy! I hope you find what you're looking for..other than bug bites, disease, etc :) You've got quite the inventory..sounds like you've thought about it all. But what about a swiss army knife..incase you need to attempt some Macguyver moves in the jungle?? Be safe. Love lots. Les/Lex/Ollie

p.s. Ollie would love a soft cushy alpaca stuffed animal :)
