Sweet Home Alabama

Where the skies are so blue...

I am very happy to be home in Alabama (for a visit - not to stay). I haven't been home since Christmas, so I'm enjoying lots of family time (ex: Yesterday I took Virginia (my youngest sister) to see Don't Mess With the Zohan... cute movie, but not one of Adam Sandler's best).

This morning I dropped Virginia off at Zoo Camp @ 7:30AM and now I'm at home sitting on the back porch, listening to the chirping birds, enjoying the morning breeze, and sipping on my coffee. It's nice to get out of the city and to enjoy some peace and quiet for a change.

I've got a big day filled with doctor appointments... gotta get that Yellow Fever vaccine for the Rain Forest (I got all the other vaccines before my trip to India back in January). Speaking of which, I'm leaving for Peru in six days! I bought travel insurance yesterday, and today & tomorrow I plan on finalizing my itinerary... and yes, I'm going to post it once it's complete.   :)

Oh, and my high school reunion was three days ago. 21 of the 38 people I graduated with met at The Garage for drinks. I seriously can't believe it's been 10 years! I think the best thing about the reunion was seeing that everyone has moved on from high school... because that's the last place I saw most of my classmates, so in my head, they were all 18 years old and going off to college. Now they're all "adults" like me... haha.

P.S. The second best thing was when (prompted by me) my friend Kelley (who didn't go to Altamont) went up to a classmate and said "Jim! I haven't seen you in so long! How have you been?!" at which point Jim responded "Good, good. It's nice to see you too" and then promptly turned to Daniel and whispered "Who is this?"
