I'm talking big picture here (not the fact that I have to read 100 pages in my statistics book about regression analysis this weekend).
I'm happy with the direction my life has taken this year. Attending business school has allowed me to leave behind my everyday life as a worker bee and I've become empowered with the mental freedom to explore new worlds. (Note to self: Don't lose this spirit after graduation).
I guess I'm doing some soul searching for what I want out of life (and to do with my life... Could this be the quarter life crisis I've heard about?). At this stage in my life, business school is a great launching pad. It's all about what you make of it. Some people are going to b-school to become rich Investment Bankers (good luck with that). For me, b-school is all about exploration... finding that thing that (happily) keeps me up late at night and then makes me jump out of bed each morning. That exploration is facilitated in the classroom, by the people I meet, and just the overall curiosity that comes with being in an academic environment.
I think 2008 will be remembered as my year of awakening. I've started and it's exciting, but I've got a long way to go and am looking forward to the journey.
