A Note on Traveling Alone

When most people find out that I´m traveling alone, they say something like ¨Wow, how courageous!¨ (I´m sure if I were male I wouldn´t get the same response, but that´s beside the point here).

To be honest, travelling by myself (or as I like to say ¨with myself¨) has provided me total freedom - to go wherever I want, whenever I want, and to do whatever I want (that´s not illegal, of course).

Just imagine - waking up every morning with no obligations but to explore a new country, constantly learn, and have fun... and perhaps see/do some cool things and meet some interesting people along the way too (solo travelers meet more people than travelers in a group).

As an added bonus, being a solo traveler has been a confidence builder. Here I am, totally independent and taking care of myself in Peru. I am more comfortable with who I am and what I am capable of. I´ve become my own best friend and I am pretty good company for myself too. ;o)

I hope this blog encourages more women to travel with themselves.
